Adult Volunteers

Interns at Wilson Re

Adult volunteers make Horizons GFA possible! On-Campus: Assist with on-campus events, such as Fall Fest in October, Book Drives for Literacy in January, and other activities for our students from PreK through College.

Event Committees: Volunteers create our incredible fundraising events, including our Winter Gala in February 2026 and the Horizons GFA Open at the Country Club of Fairfield on June 1st. To volunteer for an event committee, please email Allison Ocampo at gro.ymedacafg@opmacoa.

Career Advisory Committee

A meaningful way to share your professional expertise with our college students is by joining our Career Advisory Committee (CAC). Support our graduating students and alumni in their transition into the professional world by helping them network for career and internship opportunities!

If interested, please email Christina Whittaker, Horizons GFA Executive Director, at gro.ymedacafg@rekattihwc.

Members of this committee connect with our older students to share their experience, skills, networks, and more. Companies can also join; your company can choose to partner with Horizons GFA to host a panel, information session, or internship.

Why do we have the CAC? Historically, our college students and graduates have had a hard time accessing professional networks in their fields of interest because most are first-generation college students and lack people in their personal networks with jobs that require a bachelor’s degree or higher. Now, we are proud to share that 100% of our students obtain full-time paid employment post graduation.
