Horizons is an admissions-only program. Admissions is open from December 1 through February 15 each year. An application and supporting documents are required. Completed applications will be reviewed and selected students and families will be interviewed. Admissions decisions are released in March.
Horizons GFA is one of two Horizons programs serving Bridgeport students under the Horizons Bridgeport umbrella. The other is Horizons at Sacred Heart University (HSHU). The affiliate a student applies to is determined by the Bridgeport school they are attending at the time of application. Horizons GFA serves grades PreK–College and Horizons SHU serves students in grades K–8th.
Each year Horizons GFA has eight openings in PreK and eight openings in kindergarten. Openings in older grades are filled as they occur.
Once a student is admitted to the program, they remain with us for the duration of elementary school, high school, and their post-secondary education.
The summer program runs for six weeks, 2025 dates are tentatively June 23-July 31. Spring Saturday Academy dates (five) are in late April to early June. Full attendance is mandatory.
Programming is free, families pay only an annual $30 registration fee.
